KAPAP instructor profile

Dale Wordley

Dale Wordley

Dale was introduced to martial arts at the age of five when he was taken to the local community centre to train in Taekwondo, the start of his martial arts journey. Between then and the present day Dale has trained in many styles, appreciating the modern and traditional styles of martial arts. He still continues to study all forms and trains regularly in BJJ, arnis and Judo, but his motivation was to study self defence, or as he prefers to call it; raw personal protection. He was still looking for a system that was effective and worked in everyday situations, this was important for Dale because of his work in the security sector, working as an Police Officer, Door Supervisor and other Security roles.

Finally coming across Avi Nardia and learning KAPAP filled that missing gap in all the martial arts. A system that borrows the best techniques from many disciplines, some of which go back years. Easy yet effective, Dale has been teaching KAPAP for the last 3 years whilst continuing as a student of more tradtional styles, he is able to include skills learnt from real life experiences and training to his KAPAP classes, offering a Raw Personal Protection training experience. Dale is currently the only Licensed KAPAP Instructor in East Anglia and is actively teaching KAPAP under the instruction of Major Avi Nardia and the KAPAP Federation.

He is keen on developing training for real, applicable fitness and mental strength and applying this in conflict scenarios for members of the club.

Ian is helping out Kapap Norfolk with additional fighting fitness classes and is also working towards becoming an Kapap instructor.

Avi Nadia

Avi Nardia

One of the orignators of what we now know as KAPAP is Avi Nardia who has an extensive background in Israeli Defence Forces.

In over 24 years he has built up formidiable skills in dealing with numerous different combat situations. Avi's curriculum vitae is exceptional and he is deeply respected all around the world for his knowledge and expertise.

He served in the Israeli army as a sniper also becoming a Krav Maga instructor, and fought in the Lebanese war where he earned the rank of Major. Major Nadia went on to be a part of YAMAM an anti terrorist unit in Israel, as a KAPAP instructor and member of intelligence he would train and teach many skills: operational behaviour, VIP protection, and defensive tactics to police agencies, Marines, Army units and armed forces all over the world.

Whilst training he found it was necessary to alter the methods taught to suit the discipline, this taught Avi the differences in all the Close Quarter Battle (CQB) styles. For example, teaching armed forces is less concerned with the legalities of harming an attacker and utilises different techniques than teaching self defence to civilians. It was from this he was able to formulate a system of highly effective techniques that would be useful for personal protection, regardless of the students physical ability.

His involvement with non military projects continued and Major Nadia teamed up with Lt Colonel Chaim Peer in teaching KAPAP and martial arts at universities in Israel. Encompassing many courses, from Olympic fencing to theatrical combat. They taught in Spivak Handicapped Center and Avi was also involved with a program teaching self defence to rape victims and victims of domestic abuse.

Major Nadia has since been involved as an Athletic trainer, working with basketball and handball teams as well as the Israeli National rugby team.
